“Taking pictures is savoring life intensely, every hundredth of a second.” ― Marc Riboud. That quote pretty much sums up why I love photography. Its a chance to express yourself and see something that others might miss. You also capture a moment forever that will soon be forgotten without the photograph. Hi my name is Lauren Gore. I specialize in outdoor photography with natural lighting all over North Carolina. I also love to travel and enjoy outdoor activities. I am a graduate of NC State University and have been freelancing for 7 years. I have a creative photojournalism style and shoot in various locations.I prefer to use natural light to capture everyday moments but occasionally shoot indoors when mother nature doesn't cooperate. I photograph families, children, pets, seniors, events, bridal portraits and outdoor scenery.
I am a daughter, wife, a new mama to baby Wyatt, and a Palomino Western Riding World Champion. I love sewing, paddle boarding, snowboarding, photography and traveling to document my array of outdoor adventures. My roots in photography started at age twelve when I decided to play with my mom's Pentax K1000. Back then with film, I had to choose one roll of film to develop a week. I've been addicted to perfecting photographs ever sense. First my photography focus was horses and capturing my own life and trips to horse shows as a teenager. In college, I decided to explore photography as a career. I worked for Billy C Lewis Photography setting up shots and assisting at horse shows and events. Meanwhile saving to buy a nicer camera. (Let me get an upgrade :)). In 2007 I bought my first professional camera and started shooting portraits and a few weddings. I did freelance art work and photography for various events around the Raleigh area such as engagements, save the dates, golf tournaments and music concerts. In 2009 I graduated from NC State University, moved back to Stokes County and opened my own business, Dusty Cowgirl Photography. In 2011 my husband and I decided to move to Ocean Isle Beach, NC. Dusty Cowgirl Photography moved with us and my style evolved again. I am truly blessed to have people who encourage me and believe in me. I love what I do and would love to capture those special memories and experiences for you and your family to keep and cherish forever.
